Find a chartered accountant

To make the right financial decisions, you need the right financial advice. Whether you need guidance on your personal finances, or detailed financial advice about your business, an ICAEW Chartered Accountant can help.

The chartered title is an internationally recognised professional designation indicating the highest standards of ethical and professional conduct, up-to-date technical expertise and the capabilities of a qualified professional.

Essential advice for new businesses

If you’re planning to start a new business, speak to an ICAEW Chartered Accountant and make the right decisions from the start. How are you going to set up your business – as a sole trader, a partnership, or a limited company?

ICAEW Chartered Accountants can be recognised by the ACA or FCA after their name.

They are taught to listen and question, to ensure that the decisions and recommendations they make are of the highest standard. Their high-quality advice, sound judgment and insight into the issues affecting your finances are second to none.

They have in-depth knowledge and technical expertise gained from rigorous academic training, and the ability to apply it to all financial situations. This gives them an independent perspective you can trust.

Above all, they are bound by a code of ethics ensuring their professionalism and responsibility to their clients. No matter how big or small your financial query, you can rely on an ICAEW Chartered Accountant.

How to find a chartered accountant

Search for a firm

Use our online directory of firms to search for an accountancy firm with at least one chartered accountant working for them*.

The ICAEW Directory of Firms is designed to give you easy access to almost 20,000 offices of accountancy firms*. From the landing page, follow the link that best describes who you are and you will be presented with information tailored to meet your needs.

A firm providing accountancy services to the public can only describe themselves as 'chartered accountants' if they meet ICAEW's definition of a member firm.

*Firms in the directory flagged as an 'associated firm' are an overseas organisation, which although associated with a member firm, does not usually include a member of ICAEW as either a partner or a director, or a member in the case of an LLP.
