LSCA launch a world beating programme for trainee accountants in London The London Society of Chartered Accountants (LSCA) has set up a Training Consortium to provide a flexible training scheme aimed at small to medium size organisations to enable them to offer a leading accountancy qualification to their staff.
LSCA is working with First Intuition, one of the UK’s foremost accountancy tuition providers, to provide an innovative learning solution that offers firms more flexibility and better value for ACA training. The scheme uses a blend of weekend and weekday classroom tuition and online selfstudy, reducing the amount of time out of the office.
Qualifying as a chartered accountant (ACA) opens the door to world-wide career opportunities. The global economic crisis has emphasised the need for business leaders and advisers who can see ’the bigger picture’ and the skills which the ACA qualification instils will have ever greater importance as the financial markets and the world economy pull themselves back on track.
Samantha Russell, President on LSCA, says: “The LSCA Training Consortium recognises the value of organisations recruiting and training highly skilled finance staff to qualify as ACAs to help them to develop their staff. This scheme will allow firms to get maximum value from their investment and commitment to quality training”.
“The ACA qualification is more than just exams in financial and business topics. Integral to the qualification are comprehensive requirements for gaining workplace experience, structured trainingin ethics and developing professional skills, helping to produce highly skilled individuals whose reasoning is based on sound ethical judgment and who add great value to the organisations in which they work”.
The programme will start in September 2011 and will take students through to completing the ACAin 3 years.
To celebrate the launch of this new programme the LSCA and First Intuition are holding an event on 22 June at 18:00 at Chartered Accountants’ Hall, London EC2R 6EA. To register interest, please contact Elizabeth Russell (elizabeth.russell@icaew.com or +44 (0)20 7920 8562).
