Last call for entries to Finance for the Future Awards

Wednesday 18 January 2012

There are only three weeks left to enter the Finance for the Future Awards and show how financial leadership has driven business sustainability.

The Awards, open to all businesses and organisations operating in the UK, are to recognise the importance of leadership in the finance function and how new ways of doing business or creating an innovative business model have resulted in long term sustainable value.

Businesses and organisations are being encouraged to enter the awards if they can demonstrate a shift in corporate behaviour and organisational practice. The deadline for entries is Friday 3 February 2012.

Said Richard Spencer, Head of Sustainability, ICAEW;

“The Finance for the Future Awards aim to be distinct from other awards in the marketplace which mainly focus on green issues, environmental and corporate responsibility; however, few look at sustainability from a finance perspective, in particular taking a long-term view of capital allocation, investment and risk management to drive a better and more sustainable return.”

“Our awards focus on embedding sustainability within an organisation as well as rewarding new thinking,” continued Robin, “They will seek to identify innovative approaches to finance and business that have supported fundamental changes in the business rather than the financial reporting of sustainability.”

“Entering the awards is an excellent opportunity for organisations to raise their profile and be publically recognised.  Because the awards have a rigorous assessment and judging process in place, entrants will be demonstrating how their business is leading the way in the field of sustainability and long term value creation.”

The awards will be presented at a ceremony in London on 19 June.
