James Cleave, who is training with Clive Owen & Co. in the firm’s Darlington office, has come amongst the very top students sitting their final qualifying examinations to become ICAEW chartered accountants.
James achieved joint ninth place out of over 1,700 candidates internationally in the ICAEW’s Advanced Stage examinations, undertaken in November 2011.
ICAEW Regional Director Keith Proudfoot comments: “To come in the top ten in ICAEW’s Annual International Order of Merit is a tremendous achievement and we wish James a great future as an ICAEW chartered accountant.”
James Cleave said, “I am delighted to have passed my exams and absolutely thrilled to have achieved such a high position internationally. Working in a progressive firm like Clive Owen & Co has enabled me to combine my training with a high standard of practical experience, and I have found this support invaluable.”
Clive Owen, Senior Partner, added, “We are very proud of James and his achievements in these exams. He has worked incredibly hard and his dedication and hard work has been rewarded.”
Overall, 3,654 students undertook their Advanced Stage examinations in November 2011, sitting a total of 6,298 papers. 1,754 students completed the Advanced Stage this session and 2,508 passed all the papers they sat.
