The ICAEW Foundation in Hong Kong

The ICAEW Foundation in Hong Kong was launched in March 2011, during an event attended by ICAEW President Gerald Russell and senior ICAEW members in Hong Kong. The registered charity aims to provide meaningful annual bursaries to talented aspiring undergraduates and post-graduate students in Hong Kong universities; these will include opportunities for overseas exchanges.

By offering life-changing opportunities to aspiring students who may otherwise miss out, the ICAEW Foundation in Hong Kong provides a leading example of how the traditions and values of chartered accountants make a difference to individuals and societies everywhere.

What is our target?

We aim to raise HK$20m over the next five years to support up to 30 students a year.

Through the goodwill of our contacts we hope to inspire individuals, trusts and organisations to support the Foundation’s objectives in Hong Kong. The campaign is led in Hong Kong by volunteer Ken McKelvie, the ex-Chairman of Deloitte China and supported by Sir David Li, Chairman and Chief Executive of The Bank of East Asia

“The responsibility for the success of the ICAEW Foundation in Hong Kong rests with those who believe in the accounting profession’s history of outstanding achievements – not only in creating and upholding standards and excellence but, just as importantly, in supporting and developing the talents of aspiring students”
