IMS aims to raise the profile of the Institute in Scotland and support the members locally by:

  • Supporting members’ careers locally through appropriate networks
  • Communicating between the Institute, members and stakeholders

By working in association with other departments, by communicating and helping to develop and deliver the Institute’s strategy throughout the UK, strengthen relationships with key strategic stakeholders, deliver high quality activities locally and provide support to Institute members in Scotland.

Strategy Board for Scotland

The role of the Strategy Board for Scotland is to help facilitate the work of the Institute Members in Scotland office holders, Regional Director and Regional Executive, identifying the key business issues affecting members and how to best address those issues.

The board meets three times a year to review business in Scotland. The board also considers Institute initiatives if there is a relevance to members in Scotland into which a contribution should be made.

Mayday: Sustainability starts with sharing

The ICAEW Members in Scotland (IMS) Group is proud to be a member of the Scottish Business in the Community (SBC) Mayday Network and pledged to take action on climate change.

Over the coming year the group will aim to:

  • expand the scope of our carbon footprint to include travel from all activities
  • share information with members and encourage members to take action to save costs and carbon
  • broaden our sustainability remit beyond carbon
  • continue to bring companies to the Mayday network in Scotland.

The IMS Group agreed that as part of the UK’s leading Accountancy body we should take action. Although, our direct carbon impacts are relatively small, we believe that no organisation is too small to take positive steps to reducing carbon emissions.

What can you do?
