Members resources and support in the UK

The ICAEW is pleased to offer the following services to members of GAA Institutes who are living temporarily or permanently in the UK:

Faculties

Members of GAA Institutes can subscribe to any of ICAEW's seven faculties at ICAEW member rates (plus VAT).

Faculties are centres of technical excellence for professionals working in seven key areas:

Faculties provide support and technical expertise and give you the chance to network with professionals who have similar interests, experiences and goals.

Special Interest Groups

Members of GAA Institutes can subscribe to any of the ICAEW's ten Special Interest Groups (SIGs) at ICAEW member rates (plus VAT).

SIGs provide practical support, information and representation for chartered accountants working within a range of industry sectors:

SIGs offer access to the latest and best information and provide chartered accountants with the tools they need to develop professionally.

Events

ICAEW has many regional offices, which provide support to members and run a large variety of technical/CPD and social networking events.

Members of GAA Institutes can attend ICAEW district and regional events and will, under normal circumstances, be able to attend these at ICAEW member rates (plus VAT).

Technical Discussion Groups

The ICAEW would like to extend an invitation for members of GAA Institutes to join the London region's technical discussion groups, which respond to Government initiatives and papers, company law reform etc.

The Business Centre

The Business Centre, located in Chartered Accountants’ Hall, offers members of GAA bodies an impressive, modern space where they can meet, eat, network and work. In addition to a world class Library & Information Service, it also offers a full range of business facilities, including computers with free internet access, WiFi, quiet areas and study spaces, as well as a café and lounge. A perfect place to do business in London, in the heart of the City.

Function room bookings at Chartered Accountants' Hall

Members of GAA Institutes benefit from a 10% discount off any room hire at Chartered Accountants' Hall. You can also reserve a Business Centre meeting room at the following rates:

  • £15.00 per person for a maximum of 4 hours with one serving of tea and coffee (minimum of two guests)
  • £30.00 per person for a full day hire with two servings of tea and coffee (minimum of two guests)

Library & Information Service

The world’s largest resource of UK accountancy, auditing, taxation and business resources.

Members of GAA Institutes are welcome to visit the ICAEW library and make use of the resources on site. Note that due to licensing arrangements some electronic materials have restricted access and will not be available.

To use the Library services, members of GAA Institutes must be based in the UK and provide proof of identity and current membership of their Institute (for example, their membership card).

Book Loan Service

Members of GAA Institutes may use the book loan service on the same basis as ICAEW members. Members agree to look after books, return or renew them on time and pay for any loss or damage.

Please note, we can only send books to UK addresses.

  • Borrow up to 4 books for an initial period of 3 weeks, renewable up to 4 times for 3 weeks each time, unless requested by another user.
  • Visit the LIS in person, arrange a courier (at your expense) or request books to be posted to you. The cost of returning books to the library is the responsibility of the borrower.
  • If a particular item is not available it can be reserved for you

Document Delivery Service

You may contact the LIS Enquiry Desk to request copies of specific documents to meet your information need. These can frequently be identified by searching the library catalogue at www.icaew.com/libcat

There is a charge for this service, payable by credit card at the point of ordering.

GAA Institute members have access to a range of lifestyle and business support products.

Please note there may be some restrictions on eligibilty for finance and insurance based products.
