  • Mark Russon

    Business Development Manager, Primary Markets, London Stock Exchange

    Mark is responsible for IPO origination and Board-level customer relationship management with Mid and Small Cap quoted and private companies, investment funds and corporate finance advisers across Central and South West England, Wales and the Channel Islands. Prior to joining the London Stock Exchange in May 2000, Mark spent three years in retail and business banking with First Direct and HSBC.

    Mark is a member of the Quoted Companies Alliance’s Marketing and Communications Working Group and a Chartered member of the Chartered Institute of Marketing. In 2010 Mark launched a new edition of the London Stock Exchange’s Investor Relations – A Practical Guide publication which provides practical advice on investor relations strategy and best practice.

  • Susan Robertson

    CEO, Oxford Catalysts

    Chief Financial Officer of Oxford Catalysts with experience in AIM fund raising. Previously held senior management positions in BOC (now Linde Group) and Japan Air Gases (JAG), a JV between The BOC Group and Air Liquide. Susan is a chartered accountant (FCA) having originally trained with Arthur Andersen in London.

  • Simon Ward

    Investment Director, EV Group

    Simon is an Investment Director with EV Group, who are an SME focussed venture capitalist, who invest up to £2m into businesses at any stage of maturity anywhere in the UK.  EV currently have funds under management of circa £130m.

    Simon is based in Birmingham from where he leads EVs activities across the South and Midlands. He currently sits on the board of two investees.  Simon trained as a chartered accountant with PwC and has subsequently spent his career working either as an advisor, lender or investor to growing businesses.  Prior to joining EV he had spells with Octopus; ISIS and RBS.

    Simon will talk about the challenges faced by businesses in accessing equity capital to finance growth, business development and ownership change.  He will outline the process he goes through in appraising and executing investment opportunities and then working with investees at a strategic level through to a successful exit for all.

  • Cheryl Adams

    Regional Director Santander Corporate Banking, Thames Valley

    Cheryl Adams has had a very successful career in banking which spans over 25 years. Having previously worked at RBS and HSBC she joined Santander in January this year having previously held a key role in the North Hampshire region of HSBC. She is well known within the corporate banking market and has also spent some time working in North America with HSBC.

    Cheryl is based at the Corporate Banking Centre in Reading and leads a team of corporate and commercial banking experts located in the Thames Valley. The Thames Valley team, which includes experts in sectors such as real estate and healthcare, deposits, asset finance and invoice finance, is responsible for managing existing customer relationships and sourcing new business to support the continued expansion of Santander Corporate Banking throughout the Region.

    In 2011 Santander Corporate Banking Thames valley region were able to support the expansion and growth of businesses within the region by providing lending facilities in excess of £200m and opening 150 plus new bank accounts.

  • Ian Nash

    Business Development Director Thames Valley, Santander

    With over 21 years in the Banking Industry covering all aspects of retail and corporate banking, Ian is the Business Development Director for Santander in the Thames Valley generating new business opportunity across all sectors within the £500k - £150m turnover segments.

    Based locally at Davidson House in Reading, Ian joined Santander in October 2009 working as a Relationship Director in the Commercial space looking after business in the £1m - £25m area increasing his portfolio from a standing start to 60 customers over a 2 year period.
