Spend less time resolving those tricky interpersonal issues, and more time achieving your charity's objectives through better governance. Learn how to minimise impact on your day to day work when difficult situations arise.
Why you should attend
If you work in or volunteer for a charity, you'll understand that effective relationships between the Board of Trustees, staff and volunteers are crucial for running a charity. However, it is not always easy. You may have noticed tensions between, for example, the chair and the chief executive or the Board of Trustees. Perhaps you deal with people who donate their time by volunteering, and would like to know how best to manage volunteers. How do you manage tensions and difficult situations?
At our seminar, you will learn 'The art of managing difficult situations'. Led by a communications expert, you'll discover how to:
- manage difficult people and situations in order to prevent conflicts;
- strategically resolve conflict when it does happen;
- find out from the engaging speaker how to approach outstanding issues you may have;
- advise your clients how best to deal with tensions and personal differences within their charity;
- tap into tips on how to minimise risk and impact and how to use accredited mediators in these situations.
This event is not exclusively for charities; if you're a Non-Executive Director, for example, or if you have experienced working with difficult people in the workplace, you'll benefit from this seminar.
There will also be a Q&A/discussion with the speaker. Please note that this event will be held under the Chatham House Rule.
