Speakers

  • Bob Griffiths

After qualifying as a chartered accountant Bob started his own consultancy, working with organisations needing support in getting their financial systems straight. Realising that the human element was key in successful business, he trained to offer coaching services in addition to financial advice.

Bob believes that success is most satisfying when reached through good relationships both inside and outside the workplace. He recognises that true success cannot be measured purely in financial terms and enables people to overcome organisational and personal barriers to achieving their career goals.

Bob has worked extensively in the financial services and manufacturing sectors and has helped many accountancy and finance professionals transition into new roles. Some of his clients include the Ministry of Defence, PricewaterhouseCoopers, Coca Cola Amatil, Goldman Sachs, Morgan Stanley Dean Witter and the D.V.L.A.

  • John Bloor

John Bloor had a successful banking career before becoming an interim management provider in 2001. He worked for Barclays where he had a number of senior regional management roles as well as appointments heading up product and service line areas. He became a regional director responsible for the bank's franchise in the West Midlands, which was the largest UK region of the bank outside of London.

After Barclays, he joined PricewaterhouseCoopers where he developed the firm's Turnaround Panel as a specialist interim management offering; it subsequently became a much copied model in the professional services sector. Before he first joined Alium Partners in 2007 to develop a business transformation practice, John also worked for the US consulting and advisory firm, FTI.

John places senior interim executives in the UK and Europe across many industry sectors and management functions, principally at chief officer level. His background has led to a natural bias towards the financial services sector and, from a functional perspective, finance. However, the common thread that links the majority of placements he has made is clients who have a significant change agenda.

  • Imran Ul-Ghani and Una Ward

Imran has over 10 years’ experience as a recruiter within Professional Services placing predominantly qualified professionals from Managers to Partners.  He has experience of undertaking Contingency and Search projects with a thorough understanding of his client’s needs, their business and market conditions and has managed Practice teams and divisions on a regional and national capacity .  Imran is very passionate about both Recruitment and the Market in which he specialises, something that is evident from his track record in the industry and relationships he has built over the years.
He joined Ambition in 2011 heading up the specialist practice team focusing on recruitment in to Accountancy practice and Professional Consultancy.

Una is a Business graduate who joined Ambition, formerly Witan Jardine, in 2006. Her experience is a hybrid of contingent and search assignments within Core Finance across Asset Management, Hedge Funds and the Investment Banking market.  She has a solid track record of delivering high quality solutions to each mandate and the degree of her knowledge and the personal commitment that she demonstrates allows her to excel in her market. She became Divisional Manager in December 2010 and now heads up the Banking and Financial Services Permanent Accountancy team.
