In association with Morgan McKinley the Financial Service Faculty welcomes you to its new Career Development Group. In an industry where it takes more than technical skills to succeed, a series of events over 2012 will look at what it takes to thrive and survive in financial services.

    With 14 years’ experience, Andrew’s specialist knowledge of the UK’s financial services recruitment market puts him in an excellent position to provide an overview of current market conditions.

  • Tim Harris, Deputy Group CFO and Chief Capital Officer, Aviva plc

    Tim Harris is the Deputy Chief Financial Officer, and Chief Capital Officer at Aviva plc, and has 21 years experience working in Insurance, and wide experience of all aspects of financial management and reporting for insurance companies. 

    Tim’s professional qualifications include “Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England & Wales (FCA)”, and “Chartered Insurance Practitioner, Associate of the Chartered Insurance Institute (ACII)”.  He is a member of the IASB Insurance Working Group and the ICAEW Insurance sub-committee, and has previously served EFRAG and the CFO Forum on insurance accounting issues.  A graduate of Durham University, Tim has also recently completed an MBA at Warwick Business School.

    Tim joined Aviva in 2001 as Director of Group Financial Reporting Projects, Aviva plc.  In 2004 he became Group Financial Reporting Director, Aviva plc.  In 2005 Tim left Aviva to become a Partner at PriceWaterhouseCoopers.  In 2006 Tim returned to Aviva in the role of Group Chief Accountant, Aviva plc.  In 2008 he became Chief Financial Officer, Aviva Europe, a role which he undertook until the end of 2010, when he took up his current role.

  • Neeraj Kapur, BEng ACGI FCA CF, CFO Secure Trust Bank

    Neeraj Kapur joined Secure Trust Bank PLC in 2011 as Chief Financial Officer, which he steered through a successful AIM flotation. Neeraj was an RAF Pilot before joining Arthur Andersen where he qualified as a Chartered Accountant. Post qualification he was a partner in a regional accountancy practice where he worked for 9 years.

    He joined RBS in 2001 where he undertook a number of Senior Finance roles, latterly as Group Finance Director of Lombard which is the largest asset finance and leasing business in Europe. Neeraj has a seat on the Council of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England & Wales and is the Vice Chairman of its Financial Services Faculty.

  • Jim Richardson, Global Head of GBM Recruitment at RBS

    Jim will bring a HR perspective to the panel

    Jim Richardson is an Executive and Global Head of Resourcing at RBS' Global Banking and Markets Division with responsibility for both Graduate and Lateral hiring. Jim joined RBS in April 2010. Prior to joining RBS, Jim held a number of positions at Credit Suisse including the Global Head of Lateral Recruitment for the Investment Bank, Global Head of Graduate recruitment for the Asset Management Division and European Head of Graduate recruitment.

    Prior to joining Credit Suisse, Jim was European Head of Lateral Recruitment at Lehman Brothers for three and a half years, where he undertook a full review of outsourced recruitment services.

    Prior to joining Lehman, he spent three years in the recruitment industry, working at Michael Page and a small boutique, specialising in the recruitment of compliance, risk and corporate finance professionals. He began his career at Ernst & Young, where he qualified as a chartered accountant within the audit practice specialising in manufacturing and media. Jim is a member of the Executive Grapevine Advisory Board  as well as sitting on the advisory board of Teach First.
