CNCC members - join the ICAEW

As a member of the Compagnie Nationale des Commissaires aux Comptes (CNCC), you may be able to join ICAEW through the Recognition of Professional Qualifications Directive or the Statutory Audit Directive. The route you should take depends on whether you want ICAEW membership alone or wish to gain UK audit rights in addition to ICAEW membership.

Membership agreement

We have an arrangement with the CNCC as the content and level of their qualification has been assessed as similar to the ICAEW ACA. This means qualified members of the CNCC can become a member of ICAEW through the Recognition of Professional Qualifications (RPQ) Directive without the need to sit additional examinations.

Audit rights

If you wish to gain UK audit rights, you must first apply for ICAEW membership under the Statutory Audit Directive (SAD) in order to obtain the Audit Qualification. Under this route, you must hold audit rights in your home country and you will be required to sit an aptitude test.
