The Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW) has issued technical releases providing guidance to members on Information Technology issues and details of the Institute's representations on Information Technology matters since 1972. Following the creation of the IT Faculty and Assurance Faculty in 1991, technical releases on IT have been issued by the Faculty.

1972-1991
Technical Releases on aspects of IT were issued as part of the numerical sequence of technical releases between 1972 and late 1991. The following links allow you to browse the details of Technical Releases covering Information Technology issues for this period, working back from 1991:
1991
The IT Faculty was established in 1991 and all Technical Releases issued on IT matters since this date have been published by the Faculty. The Faculty provides products and services to help members and other business professionals make the best possible use of IT. The Faculty helps members keep up-to-date with information technology issues/developments. It also represents chartered accountants' IT-related interests and expertise and contributes to IT-related public affairs. For further information, visit the website of the IT Faculty.
1992
From the start of 1992 the numerical sequence was replaced by named series, as detailed below. All Technical Releases issued since 1992 have been numbered sequentially in the year of publication prefixed by the name of the relevant series, eg. FIT 1/96.
1992-1996
The first named series for Technical Releases was simply called FIT which covered Technical Releases on Information Technology from 1992 to 1996.
2007
One Technical Release was issued by the IT Faculty in 2007 with the series name ITF.
Representations
Representations were issued by the IT Faculty without using a named series until 2007 when the first ITF Rep was issued.
IT Faculty representations have been published in the main sequence of ICAEW Reps in 2009-10.
