- Join our groups and committees
-
Choose between the LSCA's specialist committees, through which the LSCA makes representations on a wide range of issues on behalf of its members, or the committees and groups that cater for the varied interests of chartered accountants. The LSCA sponsors a number of discussion groups covering a broad range of issues both in practice and in industry and commerce. Some of the groups are aimed specifically at particular commercial sectors such as banking and solicitors, while others concentrate on technical areas such as taxation or financial reporting.
- Younger members
-
What do Younger Members want from their District Society? What is a Younger Member?
The second question perhaps is more difficult to answer than it seems. Some Younger Members work in business, others work in practice. Some are recently qualified, others may have been ACAs for 10 years. All the interest groups have different needs. London's Younger Members' Services Group aims to give some of the support young ACAs want from their district society. Members want cheap but useful CPD points some also want to meet with other ACAs, or with business contacts.
The Younger Members' Services Group is fully involved in the London Society of Chartered Accountants activities, and members are also involved in many ICAEW groups. Those with an interest in any particular issue from Communications to Workplace to Taxation issues should get in touch. There are also some spaces available on the main Younger Members' Services Group for volunteers interested in co-ordinating activities.
- About us
-
The society was formed in 1871 and serves more than 31,000 members throughout Greater London. The society’s members come from accountancy practices small and large and from a range of business, public sector and Third Sector interests. The district society is deeply engaged in the development of the local economy and regards the promotion of the profession – especially among students – as a crucial part of its work. In addition, many of the society’s activities are carried out through local branch/area societies in order to main to maintain contact with members throughout the London area. It also acts as a link between the ICAEW in Moorgate Place and members in the district.
- Channel Islands
-
In order to maintain contact with members throughout the London area, many of the Society's activities are carried out through its branch/area societies. Chartered accountants whose registered address is in the Channel Islands are members of the Society. For most practical purposes they operate independently of the Society and are members of the local island society, the Jersey Society of Chartered and Certified Accountants and the Guernsey Society of Chartered and Certified Accountants.
