ICAEW Chartered Accountants Thames Valley

The Thames Valley Society of Chartered Accountants has over 6000 members and was first formed as a branch of the London Society in 1968. It became the twenty-first District Society of the Institute in 1977. Its area covers the counties of Berkshire, Oxfordshire and the districts of Beaconsfield and Wycombe in the county of Buckinghamshire.

TVSCA hosts first digital Working Together meeting

We were privileged to host the first digital Working Together meeting in Oxford in September. This was broadcast live to the agent community over the internet, enabling them to understand the issues raised with HMRC and comment accordingly.

Skills shortage in the South East

Businesses in the South East are likely to be addressing the skills gap in the year ahead, according to new research. However, the region has shown a relatively robust performance for local companies in the latest ICAEW/Grant Thornton Business Confidence Monitor (BCM).

Hook students through to national business final

Business-savvy students from Lord Wandsworth College beat off competition from eight other local teams to win the Reading heat of ICAEW’s national business and accounting competition, BASE on 27 November 2015.

ICAEW President visits Maidenhead

ICAEW President Andrew Ratcliffe recently visited Maidenhead. It was his first visit to the town and was part of a day’s visit to the Thames Valley.

About us

The Thames Valley Society of Chartered Accountants aims to provide members with an extensive CPD programme, events, and social networking.  The Society has a main committee and also  the following sub committees: Chartered Accountants in Business; Technical Advisory Committee; Member Support group: and three general practitioner groups.

There are four active practitioner groups in the Thames Valley: Henley & District, Oxford, Reading and Thames Valley East.

Each group holds up to four meetings a year, as well as Working Together meetings with the HM Revenue and Customs. For details of the next practitioner group meeting in your area, please contact the Chairmen below or your regional executive.

TVCASS - Student Society

As a chartered accountant student you are automatically a member of the Thames Valley Chartered Accountant Student Society (TVCASS).

TVCASS is a society for any student training to be a chartered accountant with the ICAEW, whether in practice or commerce, and living or working here in Thames Valley (Berkshire, Oxfordshire & SW Buckinghamshire)
