The Library & Information Service (LIS) is ICAEW's renowned leading business library, providing a huge range of resources for its students and members.
Based in The Business Centre, Chartered Accountants' Hall, London you don't have to visit in person to make good use of its extensive resources and services since you can access almost the entire range of resources online or via the telephone.
Whether you've got a quick question or need some more detailed research you can contact the library enquiry helpline and a dedicated team of information professionals will answer your enquiry. They will guide you to the best sources from a wide range of online databases, books, articles and the internet. All enquiries are responded to within 24 hours and most of the research will be carried out free of charge.

The LIS operates a book lending service. You can borrow up to three books at any one time. Books are loaned for three weeks and may be renewed up to three times (unless someone else has requested the book). Books are posted out free of charge by second class post. In addition, copies of journal articles and extracts from books and online databases can be supplied for a modest charge.

This is the accountancy profession's search engine. LibCat, the Library catalogue, provides details of all the 50,000 books held by the LIS as well as over 45,000 abstracts of journal articles. LibCat will also help you source model documents, including proforma sets of accounts.
