Credit for prior learning or CPL is our term for exemptions. If you have an accounting or business related degree or a professional accountancy qualification you may apply for exemption/credit against an ICAEW exam module.

CFAB students

If you have an accounting or business related degree or a professional accountancy qualification you may apply for exemptions/credits against CFAB modules.

CPL for CFAB students

Depending on what you've studied and the qualification(s) you have, there are up to 12 credits available at the Professional Stage of the ACA.

  • Academic qualifications may be eligible for up to 8 credits
  • Professional qualifications may be eligible for up to 12 credits 

Credits cost £65 per knowledge module and £85 per application module. Some professional qualifications have a different cost structure. You should allow 14 days from receipt for processing of your application.
