This unique business programme - supported by Proxima and IBM - has been devised to provide the UK’s leading CFOs and FDs with a unique opportunity to network with peers and share business issues and their own experiences in confidence.
As part of the programme we are running a series of invitation-only breakfast roundtable sessions hosted by an independent, senior, experienced facilitator.
The discussions will be highly interactive and address some pertinent issues facing CFOs such as:
- Business modelling and planning in volatile times
- The relationship between the CFO/FD and other board members
- Leadership skills/developing talent
- Creating high performance teams
- Managing banks – getting the most from them
- Managing other functions e.g. IT, legal
We promise you a thought-provoking and lively discussion sharing personal experiences under Chatham House rule.
The roundtables are free of charge to attend, however you need to be registered on the Blue Chip Finance Leaders Programme, which is available to ICAEW members and non- members. Places are limited and invitation-only.
If you are interested in registering and joining us for an informative discussion please email bcflp@icaew.com

Globalisation and the role of the CFO/FD
Many international businesses have grappled with the issue of globalisation and how far to standardise and centralise business processes like manufacturing, marketing, HR, IT and especially Finance and Accounting (F&A). The pendulum has regularly swung between different organisational designs: from tight central control to greater local or regional autonomy (decentralisation).
This debate calls into question such issues as:
- Scale and autonomy of local resources
- Planning, financial reporting and management information – standardised vs localised
- Managing talent and cross cultural teams in a global organisation
- Organic vs acquisition growth – the impact of M&A on systems, people and culture, especially in relation to F&A
Where does the pendulum lie in your business today? What are the constraints and issues you are facing as CFO/FD?
