Local and Special Interest Groups
The Society has a number of related units.

The various groups are largely autonomous. They elect their own management committees and run their own affairs. The Society approves the rules and the budgets of those related units which receive finance from the Society.
- Branch/Area Societies
In order to maintain contact with members throughout the London area, many of the Society's activities are carried out through its branch/area societies.
To achieve their aims and objectives, branch/area societies should be able to:
(Note - the activities listed, though desirable in each area, are dependant upon demand for the services and the willingness of members to undertake the activities).
Each branch/area society elects a representative member to the Main Committee.
The North London Society was recognised as a branch from 1 January 1988. The Croydon Society was a branch of the Society prior to its reconstitution as a district society on 13 May 1985.
CHANNEL ISLANDS
Chartered accountants whose registered address is in the Channel Islands are members of the Society.
For most practical purposes they operate independently of the Society and are members of the local island society, the Jersey Society of Chartered and Certified Accountants and the Guernsey Society of Chartered and Certified Accountants.
