The RNLI - Saving lives at sea
RNLI is the charity that saves lives at sea. They provide a 24-hour lifeboat search and rescue service around the UK and Republic of Ireland, as well as an expanding seasonal lifeguard service on a number of beaches in England and Wales. Funded by voluntary contributions and legacies, they need your help to keep our waters safe.
- Their lifeboats launch on average 22 times a day and rescue on average 21 people each day
- Since founding in 1824 volunteer crews have saved over 137,000 lives
- Have over 230 lifeboat stations in the UK and ROI
- Have over 4,800 volunteer crew members
- It costs over £1200 a year to provide each crew member with life saving training
- Funded by voluntary contributions and legacies
The money raised through this partnership with the London School of Chartered Accountants will enable the RNLI to train and equip volunteers, ensuring they return to their families and that the waters around our islands are kept safe..
