The IT Faculty has published several guides and reports for its members and subscribers that may help in selecting the right software solution. This page also includes helpful links to other resources that will help with software selection.

The faculty has produced a number of software product guides that outline the issues, benefits and example suppliers in a number of different functional areas. Product guides in the series so far include:

ICAEW Accreditation Scheme - software
This provides information - including detailed evaluation reports against standard questionnaires - of products that have been accredited under the ICAEW’s scheme. Software suppliers pay fees for inclusion in the scheme and for the evaluation, which has to be carried out by an independent reviewer.

Softworld Accounting and Finance
This is an annual exhibition organised by Incisive Media, at which most of the major suppliers of business accounting and finance software will be present. There are opportunities to see the products demonstrated and in addition there is a programme of seminars.

Accounting systems available through the cloud service
This link provides a list of software suppliers that provide their software as a service (through the cloud). It gives links to the suppliers' websites and provides indicative pricing. This list has been compiled by IT Counts blogger Dennis Howlett.
