CHAIRMAN: Ian Clague, FCA
Ian was born and raised in the North West of England, but as his surname might suggest, has Manx blood flowing through his veins. He moved to the Isle of Man to conclude his secondary education at Castle Rushen High School before completing a degree at Leeds University in 1984. He qualified as a Chartered Accountant with Touche Ross in Leeds in 1989 and after a brief spell in industry, returned to the profession with Coopers & Lybrand in the Isle of Man in 1992.
He became a partner in the firm prior to the merger with Price Waterhouse in 1999 and was elected senior partner of PricewaterhouseCoopers in 2003. In addition to his role as managing partner, he is an active audit and assurance practitioner with major clients in both the financial services and local trading sectors.
He has served on the IOMSCA committee for eight years during which time he has served as Secretary, Treasurer and more recently Technical Officer.
He is married to Debbie (a fellow Chartered Accountant) and lives in the South of the Island with his three sons, aged 12,11 and 9. He is a keen follower of Liverpool Football Club as well as enjoying golf, swimming and tennis.
