Lee Aston

PRESIDENT: Lee Aston

Lee has been involved with the ICAEW on varying levels for many years.

He is a past chairman of BADCASS and past vice chairman of the ICAEW student council. Having qualified with a small firm and then made the move to Big 4, Lee understands the issues that face younger members on both sides of practice. Lee spent two years living in Frankfurt and travelling across Europe with KPMG before returning to the Bristol office. Lee is also a member of the Bristol Junior Chamber of Commerce and has very close links with the local organisations for young solicitors and surveyors.

Lee is married and lives with his wife and daughter in Bristol.

David Suckling

DEPUTY PRESIDENT: David Suckling

David Suckling is Head of Internal Audit & Risk at Hargreaves Lansdown Plc in Clifton. Prior to that he spent 5 years in a number of line finance and risk roles at Bank of Ireland, following a practice career that took in Ernst & Young and Solomon Hare in Bristol.

David has worked alongside Lee Aston in developing the student and younger members’ groups over a number of years. He is a past treasurer of BADCASS and was also on the ICAEW student council. He has been a member of the WESCA Committee for the last five years.

Going forward, David is keen to advance the status of members in business to ensure they drive the Institute’s future direction as much as their peers in practice, as well as ensuring active participation in Institute affairs by the younger members. The development of an active Professions Network liaising with our equivalents in other professional institutes is also a priority for David.

Outside interests include golf, squash and travel whilst he is also a season ticket holder at Bath Rugby.

Tim Lerwill

VICE PRESIDENT: Tim Lerwill

Tim Lerwill is an Associate with Richardson Groves Accountants and Tax Consultants based in Bath, having previously worked at KPMG, Bristol. Tim has many years of experience in audit, accounting and advisory services with a diverse client base including owner managed businesses. As an Associate, Tim has skills as a general business adviser by providing commercial advice which adds value.

Amongst others, he is involved with the Bath Chamber of Commerce, sitting on the executive committee, and has held the position of honorary treasurer for the West of England Society of Chartered Accountants (WESCA).

He plays football and touch rugby in his spare time.
