PRESIDENT: Will Brooks
Will Brooks qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1980. He then joined what is now KPMG in London, where he stayed for five years, specialising in advisory work for banks and securities companies.
Since then he has held senior financial management roles in banking, securities and retail financial services businesses. His experience includes American and Japanese as well as British commercial environments.
Most of his career has been spent in the City, where he rose to become Finance Director of a clearing member of the London Stock Exchange. He has worked at Brandenburg since 1990.

DEPUTY PRESIDENT: Samantha Russell
Samantha Russell, Mazars LLP audit partner has been elected the LSCA Deputy President. At Mazars she has two main areas of focus. First as an audit partner on large private and listed businesses, UK and international, predominately the US and India. Secondly she works in transaction services, as reporting accountant for AIM and main market flotations and on due diligence assignments.
It is the variety of clients and work that has led to her remaining in practice, combined with the people she works with. Prior to Mazars, Samantha Russell spent nine years at Deloitte, which she joined after university and where she started her career.
Over the last few years she has taken a more active role with the ICAEW and the LSCA. At the ICAEW, she is Chair of the Tourism and Hospitality Special Interest Group and has been involved since its inception. She is also on the ICAEW Young Professional Advisory Board and is the Vice Chair of the Public Company Accounting Oversight Board (PCAOB) Panel.
She was elected to the LSCA Main Committee in 2007 and is a member of the LSCA Younger Members’ Services Group. As LSCA Vice President, Russell is now on the London Accountant Editorial Board helping to ensure that this part of the London Region’s communication with its members is relevant.
Away from work, Russell is a keen skier, having spent her honeymoon in 2007 on the Canadian slopes, and already having scheduled two ski trips for 2009. She is also a dancer - a good way to relax and keep fit without having to go to the gym. She has been interested in all different types of dancing since an early age, but Ballroom and Latin American are the key ones. And she enjoys getting on her bike!

VICE PRESIDENT: Grant Jones
Grant is the London partner of the East Midlands-based medium sized practice of Cooper Parry LLP. Grant's business activities are wide-ranging; in accountancy, in the law and in commerce.
He holds various directorships in companies ranging from wind power to finance. A qualified lawyer and chartered accountant, Grant is a practitioner in both fields. As a lawyer he retains a number of legal consultancies. But Grant’s first and true vocation is accountancy.
Grant’s main business, as a licensed insolvency practitioner, is that of a Cooper Parry partner. Grant sits on the ICAEW Council and is also a non-executive director of a small accountancy practice .Grant’s professional mix assists his book writing, and he has written several books on financial matters. From August 2009 Grant is appointed Special Professor in the School of Law at the University of Nottingham for a three year period.
