Samantha Russell, Mazars LLP audit partner has been elected the LSCA Vice President. 2008-09 At Mazars she has two main areas of focus. First as an audit partner on large private and listed businesses, UK and international, predominately the US and India. Secondly she works in transaction services, as reporting accountant for AIM and main market flotations and on due diligence assignments. It is the variety of clients and work that has led to her remaining in practice, combined with the people she works with. Prior to Mazars, Samantha Russell spent nine years at Deloitte, which she joined after university and where she started her career.

Over the last few years she has taken a more active role with the ICAEW and the LSCA. At the ICAEW, she is Chair of the Tourism and Hospitality Special Interest Group and has been involved since its inception. She is also on the ICAEW Young Professional Advisory Board and is the Vice Chair of the Public Company Accounting Oversight Board (PCAOB) Panel.

She is also a dancer - a good way to relax and keep fit without having to go to the gym. She has been interested in all different types of dancing since an early age, but Ballroom and Latin American are the key ones. And she enjoys getting on her bike!
