ICAEW - Members resources and support

The ICAEW is pleased to offer the following services to members of GAA Institutes who are living temporarily or permanently in the UK:
Faculties
Members of GAA Institutes can subscribe to any of the ICAEW's seven faculties at ICAEW member rates (plus VAT).
Faculties are centres of technical excellence for professionals working in seven key areas:

Faculties provide support and technical expertise and give you the chance to network with professionals who have similar interests, experiences and goals.
Special Interest Groups
Members of GAA Institutes can subscribe to any of the ICAEW's ten Special Interest Groups (SIGs) at ICAEW member rates (plus VAT).
SIGs provide practical support, information and representation for chartered accountants working within a range of industry sectors:

SIGs offer access to the latest and best information and provide chartered accountants with the tools they need to develop professionally.
Events
The Institute has 10 regional offices, which provide support to members and run a large variety of technical/CPD and social networking events.
Members of GAA Institutes can attend ICAEW district and regional events and will, under normal circumstances, be able to attend these at ICAEW member rates (plus VAT).
Members of GAA Institutes can also attend CCH events at the same rates as ICAEW members. This offer applies to all courses and conferences run by CCH but not to seminar schemes.
Technical Discussion Groups
The ICAEW would like to extend an invitation for members of GAA Institutes to join the London region's technical discussion groups, which respond to Government initiatives and papers, company law reform etc.
In the first instance any interested members should email Ian Strange, ICAEW regional manager, or Elizabeth Russell, ICAEW London regional executive.
The Business Centre
The Business Centre offers members of GAA bodies a modern space in central London to meet, eat and work in. Not only does it house a world class Library and Enquiry service, but it also offers a full range of business facilities including computers with free internet access, WiFi, quiet areas and study spaces, as well as a café and lounge. Library & Information Service
Visit the ICAEW library housed in The Business Centre
Members of GAA Institutes are welcome to visit the ICAEW library and make use of the resources on site. Note that due to licensing arrangements some electronic materials have restricted access and will not be available.
To ensure we can accomodate your visit you are advised to call the library on 020 7920 8620 or email library@icaew.com in advance. Proof of membership of a GAA Institute will be required.
Book Loan Service
Members of GAA Institutes may also make use of the book loan service on the same basis as ICAEW members. Members agree to look after books, return or renew them on time and pay for any loss or damage.
- Members can borrow up to 4 books for an initial period of 3 weeks and may be renewed up to 4 times for 3 weeks each time, provided the title has not been requested by another user.
- Members can come to the library in person/arrange a courier (at their expense)/ or request books to be posted to them. The cost of returning books to the library is the responsibility of the member.
- If the title is not available it can be reserved and can then be borrowed upon its return
Document Delivery Service
You may contact the LIS Enquiry Desk to request copies of specific documents to meet your information need. These can frequently be identified by searching the library catalogue at www.icaew.com/libcat
There is a fee to all users for this service, payable by credit card at the point of ordering.
Function room bookings at Chartered Accountants' Hall
Members of GAA Institutes can benefit from 20 per cent discount for private functions and 10 per cent for business functions on the hire of Chartered Accountants' Hall. Due to space restrictions hiring of the interview rooms and use of the ICAEW Members and Guest Room are not included in this offer.
