Library closure - Friday 5th to Friday 12th December inclusive

The Library & Information Service will be closed between Friday 5th December and Friday 12th December inclusive when we will be relocating to a new space within Chartered Accountants' Hall.

The Library will re-open on Monday 15th December.

Enquiries

We will unfortunately not be able to deal with any enquiries during this period.

  • If you have a non-urgent enquiry, please email it to library@icaew.com and we will deal with it after we re-open on Monday 15th December
  • If you have an urgent enquiry and are a member, please contact the Technical Enquiries Service
  • If you have an urgent enquiry and are not a member, please contact the Information Centre on 01908 248186
  • If you need to confirm whether someone is a member of the ICAEW and are yourself a member, please contact Members Registration. If you are not a member, please contact the Members Registration Premium Line 0906 614 0906 (calls charged at 60p per minute)

Books returns

Books can be returned by post as normal or left with the Security staff at either the Copthall or Moorgate entrance to Chartered Accountants' Hall

Online resources

All of the online resources, including the eLibrary and library catalogue will still be available

Access to the Library

Access to the physical library will not be possible during this period. Access to the Members' Room will be possible except on Friday 5th December

The Business Centre

The Institute is creating a modern new Business Centre for members. The Business Centre will incorporate the following:

  • World-class Library & Information Service
  • Access to relevant, up to the minute digital and print resources with assistance from expert information professionals
  • Full business facilities including WiFi, printers, copiers, fax, as well as free internet and email access
  • Meeting rooms
  • Coffee lounge

Current Library & Information Service

Whilst the Business Centre is being built, the Library & Information Service will operate from the Members’ Room in Chartered Accountants’ Hall. For remote users, this will very much mean business as usual. The Enquiry Service, book loan service and the full range of online resources will still be available as normal.

For members visiting the library during this period:

  • Computers with internet access and a limited work/ study space will be available.
  • LIS enquiry staff will be on hand in the Members’ Room to help with enquiries.
  • Space restrictions mean that a limited number of books will be available in the Members’ Room. However, we will be able to retrieve books from our off-site store for you to use in the Members’ Room (collections will be made four times a day).

If you are planning on visiting the library, please contact us in advance and we will make every effort to make sure the information required is available in the Members’ Room for your visit.
