ACA training in Singapore

In April 2008, the ICAEW and The Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Singapore (ICPAS) signed a memorandum of understanding to offer the ACA in Singapore. 

The full ACA programme will be offered in Singapore with the addition of local tax and law variants provided by ICPAS. Classes are scheduled to start in March 2009.

Credit for prior learning (exemptions)

Credits are awarded to certain accounting graduates from Singapore Management University and Nanyang Technological University. Credits are also available for members of other accountancy bodies.

You are encouraged to apply as early as possible for any credits for which you feel you may be eligible. Applications will be assessed on a case-by-case basis.

Higher education institutions (HEIs)

We award credit for prior learning (CPL) to higher education institutions (HEIs) that can demonstrate that they meet our learning outcomes for one or more of our ACA modules within their programmes.

Tuition

Tuition is provided by The Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Singapore (ICPAS). A course timetable will be available shortly.

Students will also need to register with the ICAEW when applying for the ACA course.

Exams

Exams are held in Singapore. Details of the exam venue will be sent to applicants approximately 2 weeks before the examination.

The e-assessment Knowledge Modules are held in Singapore Accountancy Academy (training arm of ICPAS) and can be sat at flexible times throughout the year.
The Professional Stage exams are sat in March, June, September and December.
The Advanced stage exams are sat in July and November.

Authorised training employers (ATE)

Students can either study the ACA under a training contract with an ICAEW authorised training employer or as an independent student. Independent students should be aware that in order to qualify, they must complete 450 days of technical work experience and this can only be obtained under a training contract with an ICAEW authorised training employer.
