About the AAT accounting qualification
The AAT (Association of Accounting Technicians) Accounting Qualification will equip you with practical accounting and financial skills and build your personal and business abilities.
UCAS stats
The AAT is worth 160 UCAS points - 40 points more than an A-level at grade A.
You don't need any formal qualifications to study for the AAT, but if you have GCSEs, A-levels, a degree or some sort of accounting experience you may be able to start your training at one of the higher levels of the qualification.
AAT courses
There are two ways to study for the AAT, the NVQ/SVQ pathway and the Diploma pathway. Both entry levels will allow you to Fast Track to the ACA.
Which pathway should you choose?
NVQ/SVQ
The NVQ/SVQ pathway tends to be more suitable for students who have some knowledge or are currently working in a financial role. You will be asked to provide current ‘real life’ scenarios to support your course work.
Diploma
The Diploma pathway is more suited to students not working in an accounting position, and the study includes work-based scenario’s that are provided by the training college or tuition provider that you attend.
AAT course breakdown
