ACA exams overview

The ACA qualification is comprised of two stages; the Professional Stage and the Advanced Stage modules, which incorporate training and examinations.

The ACA exams are some of the toughest exams you'll sit. They test your ability to perform as a professional, not simply to learn facts.

Exam structure

There are 12 exams at Professional Stage and two exams and a case study in the Advanced Stage (excluding any credits you may be eligible for).

Professional Stage modules

The Professional Stage consists of knowledge modules, which introduce you to the core concepts underpinning accountancy and the application modules, which demonstrate how you can build on your knowledge in practice.

Advanced Stage modules

The Advanced Stage consists of two technical papers and a case study. Throughout the process you will be working and therefore able to apply your new skills direct in the workplace.
