Ben Bridger from Grant Thornton chose the graduate route to train for the ACA.

The job

I currently work in audit and study for the ACA qualification. I have already been able to work with a diverse array of clients gaining a wealth of experience. 

A willingness to take on responsibility will mean that you are entrusted with more.

The people

The audit team at our Sheffield office is well established. One thing that amazed me early on was the impressive level of expertise of the more senior members of the team. Everyone makes a concerted effort to share their knowledge. I have never felt more supported in a role.

The tough bits

Working and studying at the same time is challenging, especially with a three year old at home, but the rewards are well worth the effort.

The future

After I have finished my exams I could work on secondments in different departments to gain extra experience. I hope that my future lies at Grant Thornton as I think that it offers so much. Who knows, with my ACA qualification behind me maybe one day I will be a partner.
