The presentation will cover the key aspects of strategy development. In the light of the current business climate and economic outlook, particular emphasis will be given to the control and mitigation of strategic risk.

The talk will cover a definition of strategy and the concept and methodology of creating the conditions to maximise profit. It will move on to an examination of strategic risks, their characteristics, why we don’t spend more time on them, where to look for them and what to do about them.

Speaker – William Brooks
William A Brooks BA, FCA, ATII has thirty years of experience in banking,securities and corporate finance. He has held senior financial management roles and retail financial services businesses. Most of his career has been spent in the City where he rose to become finance director of a clearing member of the London Stock Exchange.

He established Brandenburg Securities in 1990 and has served as managing director since then, during which time he has specialised in corporate finance and strategy work. Currently William is deputy president of the London Society of Chartered Accountants serves on committees relating to training and professional conduct for the ICAEW.
