Business, Accounting and Skills Education (BASE)
BASE is a national business competition aimed at sixth form students designed to develop employability skills and introduce chartered accountancy as a desirable career path in business.

What is BASE?
BASE is an interactive day that will enhance students’ understanding of careers in business and accounting, while developing employability skills such as team work, communication, problem solving and presentation skills.
Students’ financial capability will also be developed through participation in a Business Case study (PDF 28kb/3 pages) where they assume the role of an ACA.
BASE is free of charge to attend, restrictions on the number of teams will vary on location - depending on take-up.

How to enter
Enter a team of six, year 12 and 13 to win some great prizes and the chance to compete to be our BASE champions 2010.
Each team will require a teacher to attend with them.

BASE 2009 competition winners
July 2009 saw the grand finale of the ICAEW national business competition, BASE. Aimed at sixth form students to develop skills, introduce chartered accountancy as a desirable career path in business and create direct links from the boardroom to the classroom.
The competition offered schools from seven areas around the UK the chance to compete for a place in the National Final where some fantastic prizes were up for grabs.
