Directory of Expertise
This resource fulfils three purposes:
1. A scheme for members of the IT Faculty to consult each other informally on technical matters. Under this scheme, a Faculty member may consult a member who has registered expertise in this Directory, who may provide (but is in no case obliged to provide) up to 15 minutes' telephone advice, or the equivalent by email.
2. A scheme for members of the Faculty to engage members who have registered in this Directory beyond the 15 minutes' informal advice, for more formal consultancy or other work. In such cases, any arrangement reached would be outside the terms of the IT Faculty members' informal help scheme, and would be the subject of normal commercial arrangements between the consultant and the person seeking consultancy advice.
3. A scheme for non-IT Faculty members - that is, other chartered accountants, or members of the public - to approach and engage members registered in this directory for formal consultancy or other work. Such work would be the subject of normal commercial arrangements to be made between the parties concerned.
Under no circumstances shall the Institute, its agents or servants and/or the Faculty, its servants or agents be liable for any loss or damage arising out of or in connection with advice given by any member registered in this directory.
