ICAEW wins award for education and training provider of the year
12 November 2018, ICAEW has won education and training provider of the year at the Turnaround, Restructuring and Insolvency (TRI) awards. Now in its 11th year, the awards champion the tireless work of firms, teams and individuals in the sector. The event took place on Tuesday 6th November 2018 at the London Hilton, Bankside.
ICAEW’s strong list of training and education services secured the award in Tuesday evening’s event. This includes specialist qualifications such as the ICAEW Certificate in Insolvency, a range of technical courses, conferences and webinars for those operating in the sector, and technical update sessions. ICAEW also provides in-depth leadership programmes combining mentoring and coaching, peer learning groups and workshops including the Women in Leadership programme and the Developing Leadership in Practice programme.
ICAEW’s education films also contributed to its strong entry. The film dramas provoke discussion in a training setting about how to deal with difficult and ethical situations. The first film False Assurance has provided training to over 250,000 people worldwide.
ICAEW also introduced a major initiative in the last year to educate SME directors, this included videos exploring real-life case studies and a guide to spot financial distress signals much earlier than they have done in the past. The institute has a knowledge sharing partnership with the Indian Institute of Insolvency Professionals of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India.
Bob Pinder, ICAEW Regional Director, said:
“ICAEW works extremely hard to provide in-depth and innovative training and education, so I am thrilled to see this recognised. ICAEW has a vast range of quality ways to educate, so there is something to suit everyone. We continuously work on new initiatives, events and content to keep insolvency practitioners, members and students up to date, and I am glad that its value was showcased.”
The judges felt ICAEW showed a broad range of training, with an emphasis on ethics and inclusivity and good focus on SME work.
