Chancellor faces big choices on defence spending says ICAEW

Tuesday 16 October 2018, A higher level of perceived threat, and pressure for the UK to increase its military strength means that there is pressure on the Chancellor to allocate additional funding to defence and security. In a new paper, published as part of the annual flagship IFS Green Budget, ICAEW also argues that funding for defence needs to be more secure and better managed and that the long decline in defence spending is now over.
