ICAEW President David Matthews said:

“I’m delighted to be awarding our largest ever cohort of ICAEW prize winners, representing the very best from around the world during both 2019 and 2020.

“The past year has been filled with challenge and uncertainty, particularly so for those studying for qualifications and working to secure their futures. I’m extremely proud of all our ICAEW students – including our ICAEW CFAB, Level 4 Accounting Technician Apprenticeship and world-leading ACA students – for persevering, adapting and once again accomplishing some extraordinary achievements.

“As the next generation of business and finance leaders, they will be at the forefront of building a sustainable future for us all. Congratulations to all of them.”

Graeme Gordon, Master of the Worshipful Company of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales, said:

“Not only am I very honoured to be able to announce the winners of the Level 4 Accounting Technician Apprenticeship Annual Order of Merit, but I am also delighted at the great geographical spread and true diversity of the winners. It shows how advanced and relevant our profession is now, despite the public misconceptions.”

Jessica Rutland, ICAEW Council member, said:

“At ICAEW we believe in a ‘World of Sustainable Economies’ and to achieve that goal we all need to work together. Every person can make an impact and the sum of all these parts will enhance society.

“It doesn’t matter where your journey started because by becoming a chartered accountant you have the opportunity to make the world better for everyone. We should all strive to be our best selves and lift up those around us through everyday actions.

“Accountants are the glue that keeps business together, and business can be the force of change the world needs.”
