The Worcestershire Group of Chartered Accountants (WGCA) 2022 Annual Dinner was held at Sixways on Friday 17 June hosted by the Group’s Chair, Rebecca Crowther

This was the first event the Group had hosted in person since the start of the pandemic and the evening was a great success. It was attended by 150 local accountants, professionals and sponsors and gave everyone the opportunity to re-connect and socialise with colleagues, contacts and networks.

The evening saw guest speaker, Alex Gregory MBE, give a very entertaining and inspiring insight into life as a double Olympic Champion.

Part of the success of the dinner was down to the sponsors – mfg Solicitors LLP, BRI Wealth Management plc, Leonard Curtis Group, Sutcliffe & Co Insurance Brokers, and Crowe UK LLP. Their support allowed the committee to attract top quality entertainment and it is hoped this will continue in the future.

The night also raised a massive £2,500 for St Richards Hospice, a charity close to the heart of Chair Rebecca Crowther – aided by the donation of some fantastic raffle prizes by Vertis
Accounting Limited, DKR Accountants, Severn Valley Railway (Holdings) plc, Anja Potz and Worcester Warriors. Ria, who attended on the night from St. Richards, gave an emotional speech at the event about the work that the hospice does and the importance of the funds raised.

Rebecca Crowther, Chair of WGCA and Senior Manager at Crowe U.K. LLP, said ‘it was great to organise a fantastic event and follow in a long line of successful dinners organised by the WGCA committee. It was great to be able to host an ‘in person’ event and give everyone the opportunity to socialise in a relaxed environment
