At the annual PwC IFRS conference in Bogota, Colombia, Gavin Aspden, Director of Qualifications and Carlos Arias, Socio Director Outsourcing/Managing Partner Outsourcing from PwC signed a one year agreement for IFRS for SMEs online assessment in Spanish. A one year agreement was also signed by ICAEW, CIPFA and PwC for the Cert IPSFR online assessment in Spanish.
Rehabilitating the toxic reputation of the financial services sector requires radical changes in both culture and business practices, suggests a new report from ICAEW. While regulation is critical, the sector has to demonstrate responsibility by developing its own solutions to market failures, shifting focus from products and profits to service.
ICAEW has launched a new website for non-accountants to explain the purpose of audit and the role of auditors. The site – www.trueandfair.org.uk – describes the processes that auditors go through to give their opinion on companies’ financial reports. It also has an interactive section where questions can be posted and answers will be provided.
