At the end of your apprenticeship

What happens when you complete your Level 4 Accounting Technician apprenticeship programme.

Once you have successfully completed the following elements of your Level 4 Accounting Technician apprenticeship programme:

  • ICAEW CFAB or ACA Certificate Level exams;
  • knowledge, skills and behaviours;
  • portfolio and reflective statement; and
  • role simulation exam.

We will notify the Institute for Apprenticeships (IfA) once all elements of the apprenticeship are completed.

The IfA will then post your apprenticeship certificate to your employer.

Level 4 ICAEW CFAB apprenticeship

If you have completed the Level 4 Accounting Technician apprenticeship as an ICAEW CFAB apprenticeship student, you may want to progress to the ACA qualification and become an ICAEW Chartered Accountant.

You will also be eligible to apply for the ICAEW Business Finance Professional (BFP) designation. This exciting new designation recognises professionals who have gained the essential knowledge, skills and experience necessary for a successful career in business and finance. Those with the BFP designation benefit from ongoing support and advice from ICAEW, including personal and professional development.

When you become an ICAEW Accounting Technician, be sure to speak to your employer about your career aspirations.

Level 4 ACA apprenticeship

If you have completed the Level 4 Accounting Technician apprenticeship as an ACA apprenticeship student, you will continue to the ACA Professional and Advanced Level exams working with your employer. You will also go through the practical work experience, professional development and ethics, and professional scepticism components of the ACA qualification.
