Auditing is changing again and a number of the changes are complex with limited guidance from standard setters. Some of these changes are hard to understand others are simply confusing, and are the subject of debate in the profession. Applying ICAEW’s technical resources, this roadshow will shine a light on difficult areas.

Using new case studies and examples, many of them based on real situations, this roadshow will give practical help to auditors on the following topics:

  • New style audit reports for all entities, including modifications and other more unusual reports
  • The auditors responsibilities relating to the adequacy of strategic reports including how audit reports might be qualified
  • Difficult areas in the FRC Ethical Standard
  • The audit of companies using the micro accounting regime or FRS 102 Section 1A
  • Real world feedback from firms using data analytics on smaller audits
  • Other emerging topics such as materiality, root cause analysis, accounting estimates, bank letters etc

The roadshow will particularly focus on the audit of smaller, unlisted groups and companies.
