Workplace productivity has been given a huge boost thanks to today’s technology; office-based working is no longer a requirement and more and more teams are reaping the benefits of flexible working, able to work from any location, on any device, yet still completely in sync with colleagues.
As a result there’s a whole suite of software designed to centralise communication and workflow, driving a more effective and productive team. For example, cloud-based accounting software not only allows SMEs to embrace a flexible working environment, it also brings financial procedures such as account management, time sheets, billing, invoices, expense reporting and payroll into one place, making processes less time consuming and stressful.
There are plenty of options, from one-stop financial, customer relationship management and operational data solutions such as Sage Live and aCloud, to small business favourites – user-friendly invoicing solution Freshbooks, and solid double-entry accounting options QuickBooks and Xero. Both have been around for the last decade yet still stack up against today’s competition, with Xero just edging it with price plans for unlimited users, in comparison to Quickbooks’ one-to-five users. A free 30-day trial is available, after which you can select one of three pay-as-you- go monthly price plans from £7/month. Payroll is an add-on to all plans at £1/ month for every additional employee.
