New Chairman for Middle East Network

EY partner Matthew Benson (below left) has taken over as chairman of the advisory panel of the Corporate Finance Faculty’s Middle East network. He has taken over from Sanjay Vig (right), managing director at Alpen Capital, having been deputy chairman since 2014, after he moved from Dubai with EY.

Benson is a transaction advisory services partner at EY and is transaction support leader for the Middle East and North Africa. He has been with the firm for 22 years, having initially trained as an ACA in London, before moving to Frankfurt in 1999, where he began working in transaction advisory services.

He has an MBA from both the Fuqua School of Business at Duke University, and the Goethe University Frankfurt.

“While some challenges exist that are out of the control of the corporate finance community, there are opportunities to help build and influence the development of a corporate finance community in a key global growth market,” said Benson. “ICAEW, given its strong brand and access to fantastic talent, has a unique opportunity to participate in that through the Corporate Finance Faculty."
