Ex-NS&I finance chief among ICAEW members honoured
Former HM Treasury accountant and NS&I finance director Rodney Norman, LSCA member, was awarded a CBE for his services to taxpayers, while an MBE was awarded to John Bennett for services to the City of London and education.
A number of ICAEW members were recognised for the services they have provided to their communities in the latest New Year’s Honours list. Rodney Norman, who has just stepped down both as finance director of National Savings and Investments after six years in the role and as treasury accountant at the Treasury, received a CBE for his services to taxpayers.
An MBE was awarded to John Bennett for services to the City of London and education. A retired international banker, he has spent the past 14 years as a common councilman for the Ward of Broad Street. In 2009 he was elected a member of the City of London Corporation and he was chief commoner for a year over 2014/15.
Former chief executive of Virgin Money Jayne-Anne Gadhia, now based in Edinburgh, became a dame after she was recognised for her work in the financial services industry and in particular in championing women’s careers in the financial sector. Gadhia, who trained with EY, is also about to join the Bank of England’s financial policy committee.
