ICAEW Sheffield & District Dinner, Friday 6 March 2020
Sheffield & District Society of Chartered Accountants held their Annual Dinner on Friday 6 March 2020 at the Cutlers’ Hall, Sheffield.
With guest speaker Dan Walker an English journalist and television presenter. He has presented Football Focus since 2009, and BBC Breakfast since 2016. He also presents shows on BBC Radio 5 Live and has presented sport on the BBC News Channel, as well as regularly reporting for Final Score and Match of the Day.
The chosen charity for the evening, Alzheimer’s Society, and £1,800 was raised on the evening. Dementia is now the UK’s biggest cause of death. Without a cure, one in three babies born today will develop dementia.
As you will be aware there were no prizes presented on the evening and the prize draw was to be made later. Your President Ted Wetton has made a donation to the NHS via the Captain Tom Moore site in lieu of the prizes. He hopes you all approve of this.
Alzheimer’s Society is the Uk’s leading dementia charity. They work tirelessly to find new treatments and ultimately, a cure for dementia.
They provide support to all those who need help and are creating a more dementia-friendly society so people with the condition can live without fear and prejudice.
