Academic roundtable 2011
The first Accountancy and Finance Roundtable event was a pilot held for academic contacts in the North of England, in Manchester on 24 March 2011.
The event evolved out of discussions regarding the challenges facing accounting and finance degrees now and in the future, and the positive steps ICAEW is making to work more strategically with universities. Presentations were given on issues faced by graduates, the picture for accounting and finance degrees in the future and the ICAEW Partner in Learning scheme.
Academics had the opportunity to network with ICAEW staff, external speakers and fellow academics, and were able to voice their concerns in an impartial environment. The event was designed to provoke discussion amongst the academic community; focusing on key themes such as who drives the curriculum, the future of academic accountancy and finance education, and the benefits of working in partnership.
Presentation slides and notes of discussions are available to download.
