HEI conference 2013
On the 11th January 2013 Chartered Accountants’ Hall played host to ICAEW’s first international Higher Education conference, welcoming over 70 delegates from all over the world for an interactive day packed with presentations, discussions and networking.
The day began with an ICAEW update on key areas such as the developments to the ACA qualification, the Partner in Learning scheme, and Student Recruitment activity. We then held a series of discussion sessions, which included presentations from university contacts on the benefits of working in partnership, as well as academics speaking from their own research on the challenges facing accountancy education today. Delegates were given the opportunity to discuss points in smaller groups at their tables, and fire insightful questions at a panel of experts. To finish the day, Angus Farr ran one of his ever-popular employability skills sessions, which even included some interactive assessment centre-style challenges to put the academics (and ICAEW staff!) to the test.
Presentation slides and notes of discussions are available to download.
