New law: No change to statutory maternity and statutory sick pay

Employers will welcome a government announcement that there will be no increases in maternity and other payments to employees.

The Government has announced that there will be no increases in the weekly rate (currently £139.58) used to calculate statutory maternity, paternity, adoption, shared parental pay and the maternity allowance in 2016/17.

Statutory sick pay will also remain at the current rate of £88.45.
