CGT Private residence relief
Q: My client is thinking of selling a residential property that has been their only or main residence in the past. They moved out some time ago and the property has been let for several years. Can they still benefit from Private Residence Relief and Lettings Relief?
A: There are several changes to Private Residence Relief that are due to come into effect for disposals made on or after 6 April 2020. These changes are due to be introduced in Finance Bill 2019-20.
