How to keep trading in the midst of Brexit

Nick Ford asks how firms can continue with business as usual in the face of Brexit.

A difficult year for the majority of UK businesses, the twists and turns of the never-ending Brexit process throughout 2019 have really taken their toll.

Since the majority of the UK voted to leave the EU in 2016, the focus for a lot of businesses has understandably shifted from their usual priorities to preparing themselves for whatever Brexit may bring. Although there is no doubt that this preparation is essential, a shift in focus may have come at the expense of fundamental business objectives.

So what brought down Thomas Cook? And what more can businesses learn about the headwinds buffeting the sector?

This is an extract from the Business & Management Magazine, Issue 280, December 2019.
