Annual Reception 2016 | Looking ahead with optimism
This year’s Corporate Finance Faculty Annual Reception took place on Thursday 10 November at the Guildhall Art Gallery & Old Library.
At this year's event, David Petrie, ICAEW's Head of Corporate Fiance, welcomed Lord Clement-Jones CBE as our guest speaker who shared with us his great political and business insights. Now a senior Liberal Democrat peer, Lord Clement-Jones oversaw the biggest merger of UK political parties in the late 20th century when he helped bring together the Liberals and SDP to create the new party in 1988. He is London managing partner of global law firm DLA Piper, and the Lib Dems' spokesman in the House of Lords on the creative industries and a member of the Communications Select Committee.
The Corporate Finance Faculty hosted senior representatives of its 80 members from across business, investment and advisory, as well as many contributors to its representative, policy and technical work.
The evening began with a champagne reception, followed by our guest speaker.
